These birds came and went as they pleased. The room was completely open to the outside and this was what we saw from the breakfast table. The birds would fly into the room and perch near the table and hope to steal crumbs or anything else that they could get away with. Then they would stand on the end of the pool and take a drink and dissapear, only to return again for more crumbs.
We put a small dish of cracker crumbs over by the pool to occupy them so we could eat in relative peace. They simply moved their routine to the edge of the pool. When the clouds started gathering and getting darker and the sun hit the edge of Gros Piton, the lighter edge of the pool just started to glow. It required a photograph and the bird posed nicely.
This was shot at 1/640th @ f/9.0 with a 100mm prime from the ‘Sky Sanctuary’ at Jade Mountain in Soufriere Quarter, St. Lucia.
